Movie Review 3: Night At the Museum 3

NATM 3: Secret of the Tomb: Rated PG

Night at the Museum 3 aired on December 19th, 2014 and stars Ben Stiller as Larry Daley, Robin Williams (R.I.P) as Teddy Roosevelt, Rebel Wilson as Tilly the hilariously ditzy night guard at the British National Museum, and a range of other actors in the same roles they were in the previous films. As the third and final installment of the NATM series, this was by far the funniest one. Sadly, this was Robin Williams and Mickey Rooney's last films, but nevertheless, they were just as wonderful as before.

Set several years after the second, this movie opens with the museum being a smash hit with the city of New York. Never seen before, this film also show cases constellations coming to life as there is a planetarium being added to the museum. However, as shown in a opening scene, the tablet that brings the museum to life has something wrong with it, causing the museum's occupants to act completely abnormal.

Larry seeks to fix the tablet to save his friends and his journey takes him to the British National Museum where Ankmenrah's ( Rami Malek) father and mother resides. According to Ankmenrah, his father knows the secret of the tablet and therefore can fix it. As this was Robin William's last film, it was incredibly hard to watch his character throughout, especially when Teddy decides to let Larry leave the tablet in London instead of taking it back to New York, meaning that it would be the last time any of the original characters could come back to life.

Overall, this was a wonderfully touching movie, and while it is bittersweet that this was the last one, I would give this movie an 9/10, and would highly recommend you go see it if you liked the previous films.
